For your consideration, here’s the pilot CBS rejected 12 years ago for their modern day Sherlock Holmes’ series. Set it in San Francisco, no less!
Even if they rewrite the whole thing, it’s an interesting read. You’ll notice the odd similarity here and there, but let me assure you, it’s definitely not Sherlock.
Time will tell whether they can do better.
